Craniosacral Therapy -Pregnancy, Babies and Children
“Children are our especially cherished patients; they require gentleness and special consideration.” ~ Jean – Pierre Barral, D.O. Pregnancy. A huge and wonderful challenge for both mother, and father! and baby. During pregnancy, many women suffer with aches and pains as the foetus grows, all normal when you consider the huge changes happening as this little one grows. Craniosacral therapy may certainly help throughout pregnancy and preparation for birth. Worth considering that this treatment is not just for babies!

Visceral Manipulation
Visceral manipulation (VM) was founded by French osteopath Dr Jean–Pierre Barral. It is a gentle and unique manual therapy, which locates and alleviates abnormal points of tension throughout the whole body. Barral studied how patterns of stress within the visceral system had potential to cause lines of stress within the body. The term “visceral” refers to the internal organs of the body, such as the liver, stomach, kidneys and intestines. It also includes connective tissue, such as fascia, nerves and vascular systems, circulation.

Neural Manipulation
Neural Manipulation technique combines precisely applied light pressure and passive movement to restore normal flow and function of the nerve. Nerves get “ irritated “ when they are compressed, but like to be stretched, but to achieve the end result, a light touch is required. A nerve only functions correctly when it is able to move freely within its surrounding structures. This makes a lot of sense when the end result for compromised nerve function usually results in restriction of movement, e.g. stiff neck, sore shoulder, hip, knee, lower back, and these restrictions manifest with pain.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a very old and established therapy, thought to have originated in China or Egypt. Reflexology is the practice of stimulating reflexes in the feet that correspond to parts of the body. Reflexology is a gentle and non- invasive therapy, an holistic therapy based on the principal that there are thousands of nerve endings in the feet that correspond to every organ and structure of the body. It is therefore a whole body treatment, not just a foot massage! Using specific hand, finger and thumb techniques, reflexology creates responses in the body that relate to the different reflexes in the feet.
